SYDNEY

We had a joint National Day of Thanksgiving and Global Day of Prayer event in Sydney this year. We had a great diverse planning team and had a Mothers Day Prayer and Picnic at Silver water Park (near the Sydney Olympic Park). The overflow venue we had booked was double booked with a large footy match on that same time, in the stadium next door. They needed both and got priority unfortunately.

Our Nigerian pastors have told us that God is waiting to do something in Sydney through this GDOP time so we will honor him and lifts our hearts to him and humbly anticipate what he will do.

GOLD COAST

Our City Wide Prayer Event occurred Saturday 10th May at Emmanuel College Hall.  We had some amazing miracles take place in the lead up to the rally. After we committed to pay for the rally ourselves the LORD really showed up!  Our printer tore up the quote and donated 6,000 full color posters and flyers, The School we approached to use their hall decided on the day of GDOP to ignore their fees and donate the cost of the hall, all the sound and technical crew, cleaning, security etc! We also had 200 bottles of water donated to us by a local grocery store. Our Local YWAM staffed us with 40 Volunteers to man the doors, car park etc also. 

We invited Australian Evangelist Bill Newman to speak at the event. He spoke very strongly about building up a highway of holiness and the necessary steps to genuine revival. We had civic leaders, a school principal, and 2 key Pastors in the City pray and repent. We invited the area heads of YWAM to read the Prayer for the World as well.  We opened the night with Michael W Smith's "Healing Rain" with many Messianic dancers dancing with flags and banners to the song. The worship was powerful too. We had gone to the hall the night before with 5 key prayer warriors to pray and a real sense of humility and consecration was there. 

On the night 2 people commented that the empty seats where filled with angels and that they had in fact seen that in a vision. 
The Lord has spoke to us 2 weeks before from Judges chapter 6 about the calling of Gideon and how a small army can accomplish much.  Our small crowd (about 130 people) seemed to be all hand picked by the Lord as representatives for the church and the city. It was great to see so many people who are REAL and AWAKE!

Melise and I closed the night with an invitation for all who will make a committment to stand no matter what against the brazen heavens in our city and believe for a breakthrough, to come forward. What happened next amazed me.. Within seconds the entire gathering came forward and nearly 1 hour later the prayer ministry closed. 

We have had many registrations of interest for GDOP 2009. We intend to now go to the highways and by ways and invite the public of both Brisbane and the Gold Coast to a much larger venue in accordance with God's Leading. 

PS. It was a huge task birthing this! We now have a new understanding of what it means to stand against principalities and powers in a city.
