On 11 May 5 churches joined together in 2 venues on the island of Phuket to join in with the GDOP for an afternoon of prayer. We followed the Prayer Guideline and prayed for our community, nation and the Nations with worship and special prayer for government, business, education, outreach and healing. Just over 400 people joined together for prayer. This is a significant breakthrough for Southern Thailand where unity between the churches has not been historically easy to attain. The power of God fell and there was a sense of hunger for more united prayer in the future.
Opportunity was given for repentance, between church leaders and especially between the Thai and Burmese churches. There is still a long way to go, but we made a start. There is a long lasting hatred of the Burmese in Phuket that goes back hundreds of years. We also prayed for Burma following the cyclone last weekend and will be sending aid in via our (Phuket Christian Centre) Burmese congregation. There is no restriction on Burmese entering the country.
Phuket Christian Centre will be participating in the 90 days of blessing… with our cell groups doing different activities in the community. We hope to be able to inspire other churches to catch the vision.
