We managed to appoint three national pastors to coordinate the program together. It was a great team because each one represents one section of the different churches in Timor.
Also, we appointed other leaders to be part of support teams such as Prayer, Worship, Ushering, Administration, Finance, Security, Design and Sound System.
The challenge of gathering 24 denominations to pray required much prayer, talk and perseverance... coming to the point that the local coordinators were discouraged to move on... jeopardizing even the event accomplishment. We knew there would be opposition coming from the enemy, difficulty and battles against the GDOP. But God gave us favor to overcome every obstacle.
He surprised us on the event day.... with the participation of about 600 people, 30 pastors representing
21 denominations and almost all the missionary agencies. It was a great celebration to glorify Jesus Christ!!!!
Five churches performed special songs; Timor's National flag as well as the South East Asia countries were introduced with music and dance. We had a blessed worship time, followed by an anointed Word for the season.
We had a special time for prayer divided in four major blocks:
Prayer for the NATION OF TIMOR LESTE (government, peace/reconciliation process, nation needs)
Prayer for the 13 DISTRICTS (we spread banners among the congregation)
Prayer for the SOUTH EAST ASIA NATIONS (we placed the flags facing the congregation)
Prayer for the PASTORS and LOCAL CHURCHES (Unity, Evangelization, new workers)
We can witness how much the nation of Timor Leste is blessed because of its involvement in GDOP and the South East Asia Prayer Network. The Holy Spirit is about to do something new in this nation because they have started to get together in prayer. We are all part of this nationwide transformation that is about to take place.
