URUGUAY - LATIN AMERICA

Feedback from Uruguay:

We are grateful to the Lord, by His wonderful grace over our land Uruguay, giving us the privilege to gather once more, together with millions of brothers all over the world in the Global Day of Prayer.

On Saturday 10 of May, at 3 pm., the Church of Uruguay met at the highest place of our capital Montevideo. Our landscape is slightly undulated, so our city has an only hill (mount), about 150 meters, from where our city is beautifully and completely seen.

This mount, a true icon of our city, has been a watchtower with a fortress since the foundation throughout the history, and the host of immigrants coming from distant lands, mainly Europeans is welcomed by it to the country.

This hill, known as the Cerro de Montevideo (Montevideo Hill), has been used by different occultist groups as a place to make offerings and sacrifices. So we considered it a strategic place to celebrate our Pentecost 2008 in this high place of our city.

From the top a better view of the bay and the whole city is obtained. This fact made it much more attractive, besides being an inspiration of thanksgiving to our Lord, for the blessing of the place He gave us to live in.

All pastors and leaders were enthusiastic with the idea of convening the Global Day of Prayer in this place.

So, about 3000 brothers, among them 200 pastors and leaders, convened there.

It was an historic moment, spiritually speaking, made by the convocation the Holy Spirit  and the representatives of the different sectors of the Church. Even considering the secular and humanistic character of our society, which, represented a true spiritual stronghold through decades,.

Really we understand that we are entering in a time of supernatural intervention of God over our land. Having met in unity, recognizing our absolute dependence on the Almighty and taking authority over all evil forces, we understand that a landmark has been set in the spiritual world that will allow us to move forward in the conquering of our land.

As a golden closing of the celebration, as the Church of Jesus Christ in Uruguay, we left a prophetic and faith mark over our land. We placed a memorial plaque there with the written Word of Habakkuk 2:14. At the same time, a declaration was read, in which the Church took authority in the name of Jesus Christ over our nation, renewing the compromise and alliance as brothers, heart to heart and before our Father, and compromising ourselves for the salvation of our nation.

This declaration was read by three servants representatives of the church in our country, and we are pleased to transcribe a couple of paragraphs of the same: 

“On this Mount (Monte),…. We declare in unity and unanimity that we leave aside our denominational flags, and as Church of Jesus Christ in Uruguay, we place, once again, under the cover of His Wings, and submit to His Authority and Sovereignty.
On this Mount, where sacrifices have been offered to other gods, idols and spirits, we today, offer once more our lives to the King of Kings, so His Glory  overflow over this city, over all our country.

And in the name of whom dispossess to powers and authorities, we take authority over every force of the enemy, declaring undone every evil work.

We take Habakkuk 2:14 where says “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord,” as the prayer of our heart and a faith declaration concerning the future of our land. And all together declare Uruguay also will be filled of the Glory of the Lord.

We place in His hands, committing once more, to be useful tools for the healing of our land, and make the preaching of the Gospel in Uruguay and the nations, our first and better cause, knowing that when the  Light of Christ shines, by His Word, all darkness and obscurity disappear, and there is blessing over the earth.”

These authorative words rose up to the Throne of Grace and declared to the heavenly powers, took also a legal status, since every pastor present there, was able to sign it, through a certified record, certified by a public notary. 

Certainly we know, that greater was what happened in heavenly places, and that what happened on earth, first happened in the Heavenly Throne.

The Lord blessed us with a beautiful day and communion of the Holy Spirit among the brothers.

We give thanks and worship to the One who is worthy.

Moved and encouraged by His mercy, we follow Him, knowing we must keep what He gave us as a “Treasure”. Over which we must build with wisdom and maturity, in order to keep and sanctify, the compromise renewed this day.

And finally we want to say that in about 10 more cities in Uruguay, brothers gathered in humility and prayer celebrating together this Global Day of Prayer.
All reports received up to now, talk about joy, peace and hope on what God will bring over Uruguay.
