We, Myanmar Full Life Mission Church at LOS ANGELES AREA IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, USA celebrated today the Global Day of Prayer after promoting the ten days prayer schedule. We prayed for all nations that the Lord God will meet the spiritual and physical needs. Emphatically we prayed for the urgent needs in Myanmar. We enjoyed participating in the prayer movement. We felt the touch of the Holy Spirit. Blessings.

We had planned to hold our GDOP event in a local stadium but were rained out. Our event planners were able to move to a Church Gymnasium and publicize the change so effectively that about a thousand people packed the gym and we had a wonderful celebratory, unifying event.
Charles Barton cdhb2@bellsouth.net
You cannot imagine how wonderful the Global Day of Prayer was in Wilmington! God provided every need. I pray you will be able to feel it in your heart as you read about our GDOP 2008. It was so exciting how God provided for us as the horrible storm rolled in that morning. The Legion Stadium would not allow us to use the stadium due to the weather. They cancelled us. Our leaders got together in prayer in the rain and after much discussion finally decided to go ahead with the event. There was a church we could use! It was around noon when we got the news. Their deacons and elders went to work and set up the almost 1000 chairs as well as everything else that was needed!
Everyone was using telephones, Internet, emails and cell phones to notify people who were to participate. We were calling churches that were still in session so they could announce it. We called the choir director at 3 different numbers. One of our leaders runs a local Christian radio station and he went on the air! Through it all, we were able to contact the people! The church we used could hold about 1200 people in their gymnasium and the overflow could have gone in the sanctuary. So at 4pm that afternoon the 100-member choir along with their instruments, music and both directors were in place! The speakers were there ready to lift up Jesus and pray! One man gave his life to the Lord for the first time! We were so excited. He said he didn't know why he came; his wife just drug him there but "NOW I KNOW"!
God met every need including the finances to pay for all the necessary items to put this event on. In the beginning there were 6 people, and as it went along over 5 months there were about 200 people helping and as many as 40 churches. Among the people who spoke or prayed one of the 7 parts of the Prayer for the World was a Native American Indian in full dress who spoke so gently and yet so strong. There was a Brazilian pastor, a Hispanic pastor, a Korean Pastor, a Jewish Rabbi from a Messianic church and several of our wonderful African American pastors. There were approximately 1200 people in the meeting either sitting, standing or just roaming around the room worshiping and being blessed by just being together in prayer for the world! Such joy!

NORTHFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS .
We turned a dorm room at the Northfield School (Founded by Evangelist DL Moody) into a house of prayer. People came from around 20 different churches to prayer, repent and seek God. We had nearly continuous 24/10-prayer leading up to Pentecost.
We counted our days from evening to evening so each new day would begin with our evening worship time. At 6pm every evening, we stopped and ate dinner together. We then continued with worship and prayer. Then at midnight, the night watch came.
Our Father made it clear that our cries were touching His heart and that He would do what we were asking of Him. Among other signs of His presence, our prayer times were characterized by spontaneous outbursts of public and personal repentance. This repentance especially characterized our Friday night meeting, which many remember as the culmination of the 10 Days and as a real turning point.
Finally, God sent us out on Saturday and Sunday with three messages:
1. "God's eyes and ears are open and attentive to our prayers"-We have His favor and His blessing on us, we can be confident that He will hear us
2. "Eat this Scroll"-God has sent us back to the Church carrying a prophetic message, those things that the Lord showed us and taught us during the 10 Days of Prayer.
3. "You will see the Glory of God"-We learned that true repentance is one of the things that glorifies God the most.

HENDERSON : KENTUCKY
We kicked off GDOP on the court house steps with National Day of Prayer. Our County Judge Executive hosted a breakfast with 100 attending. On Pentecost, each of the 12 churches agreed to pray through the prayer guide in their Sunday service. We distributed 1,100 prayer guides throughout the area.
NAVAJO RESERVATION
We were invited to put a tent up at the Chapter House "city hall". We all prayer walked to the center of town coming in from the four corners: North, South, East and West. We had prayer for the Chapter House leader (Mayor), wonderful worship and we read through Prayer For The World.
EUGENE : OREGON
About 28 pastors, ministry leaders, and community leaders led prayer for our world, our nation and our community, and a coalition of area worship leaders led worship together. There were booths highlighting available ministries and projects with whom people could serve.
HONOLULU : HAWAII
Hawaii might be the only state that holds its GDOP Event INSIDE the State Capitol Rotunda. The opening prayer was led by our Lt. Governor Duke Aiona. Praying and sharing on behalf of our military was Lt. Gen.Benjamin Mixon 3-star general who is head of the U.S. Army Pacific HQ. Other key government leaders joined with church leaders in a powerful time of worship and intercession.
We began our event with a parade of flags from almost 100 nations entering the Hawaii State Capitol Rotunda, symbolizing our heart to pray for the kingdom of God to be established in the nations with Christ Jesus as King of kings.
BRAINERD : MINNESOTA
This was our 3rd year of participating in the GDOP and definitely the most significant so far, not due to numbers but the unity of the spirit that was there. A couple of the main highlights seemed to be the prayer time led by an 11 year old girl and 14 year old boy as they prayed the prayers that were on their own hearts and then also a segment when the
people prayed through the Lord's Prayer a line at a time and then individuals spontaneously added their own prayers to expand on the line everyone had prayed together in unison
CLEVELAND : TENNESSEE
We started off our ten days of prayer with the National Day of Prayer and we spread our ten days over the market place, several government locations and schools. The community was greatly involved. We had prayer at the mayor's office, police departments, Chamber of Commerce, prison and various churches. There were probably over 30 people praying at each of these locations.
We had over a thousand people from all denominations participating. This was a major breakthrough for a city our size. On Pentecost Sunday, Mothers Day, we incorporated mothers in a much greater way than ever before during the Global Day of Prayer gathering. Children also had a greater participation than in previous years. The Global Day of Prayer has become part of this county’s life. Every year God has used it to build a strong unity among churches and leaders.

DELTA : COLORADO
We held the 10 Days of Prayer this year. Being able to participate in prayer in the different churches made this event very meaningful. We are planning to have a day of mission at a small church in the area. Another church group that meets on Sunday afternoon is going out into the neighborhoods on Sunday morning to drive through and see if they might offer assistance to people working in their yards, washing cars, and praying for them.
LAKELAND ; FLORIDA
Ten different churches signed up to host one of the 10 days. A noon service was held each day at one of the churches. Anywhere from 20 to 80 people participated each day. We did not have one citywide Global day of Prayer gathering but twenty pastors committed to participating in their individual churches by using the prayer guide and praying through Prayer for the World. The group of pastors picked 13 different outreach ministries to join what they are already doing in the city as a way of participating in the 90 Days of Blessing.
Most memorable was finding people in the city from difference streams with like passion.
Father Wade Fahnestock.
TUCSON : ARIZONA
We held our partly bilingual (English/Spanish) gathering in a park amphitheater. A special youth service, which was held as part of the GDOP gathering, kicked off the evening. Each part of Prayer for the World was prayed in a foreign language and then English. There was a time of repentance for the local church, our city and for all nations. The "Goshen singers" from Burundi and the "Ethnic Singers", a mix from Asia, blessed us with special music.
Most memorable is that we knew God showed up in so many ways and we knew that God was pleased. Doors were open and I was invited into so many places that would normally be shut. We have a good network and will be heading it up again next year.
We covered our city in 24/10 prayer. Ten different churches each took a 24-hour period. At the end of a church's scheduled time, a torch was carried from their church to the next church to pass on the mantle of prayer. God blessed us with an increase in relationships across our city to go forward in unity to see our city changed for His glory.
We will be serving our city with 90 Days of Blessing by "Hitting the Streets" and distributing cold water, offering rides and other services to the needy. A special group is already in the planning stages for ways to serve the Indian Reservation. We are also holding a pastors mini-summit in June to help promote more unity and laboring together
HUMBLE : TEXAS
We started off with a procession of the flags of the nations. Pastors lead prayer using the “10 days of prayer” Prayer points.
We prayed in two different languages. The Mayor and Police Chief both participated. The Police Chief lead prayer and was excited to participate. Seven different people lead the Prayer For The World.
Ten different churches opened their facilities to hold prayer gatherings through the 10 days. The involvement from the pastors was greatly rewarding.
MINNESOTA
GDOP Minnesota was "re-launched" on May 11 with nearly 400 people gathered at Grace Church Eden Prairie to pray and envision the future. Together we prayed for the blessing and healing of the Twin Cities and the nations.
As Heart of the City worship band led us, we joined Christians from 212 nations across every time zone in prayer. We helped "Pray the Planet"! A dream was birthed and the Lord's pleasure seemed evident.
I believe our city can become a national and international model. The season is ripe for a new work of heaven! I have been surprised at every turn how God seems to have prepared the ground for a harvest of righteousness.
Just two weeks after our GDOP gathering, some 60 pastors, ministry leaders, marketplace people, and intercessors gathered for a breakfast to take our first steps toward a collaborative effort in Minnesota. We identified three teams:
Ten Day Teams: Will organize prayer for the ten days prior to Pentecost Sunday.
One Day Teams: Will plan the May 31, 2009 GDOPMN event, working with stage, television, publicity, ushering, production, etc.
Ninety Day Teams: Will develop and execute the blessing of our city over three months following Pentecost. We will identify a community to focus on for the next three years--to include prayer walking, neighborhood clean-up, building and restoration of homes, etc.

GLEN FALLS : NEW YORK
Eleven churches and ministries cancelled their regular Sunday services to prayer with the global community at a local Convention Center on Pentecost. However 16 pastors have signed and made a covenant together to work to deepen our relationship and bring transformation to our city. All were not able to cancel their regular services. There was a strong sense among us of the presence of the Lord.
Each day a different church would open their church to prayer during the 10 Day of Prayer. Then in the evening many of the churches would gather together to cry out to God concerning the topics in the prayer guide. These gatherings took the form of a prayer concert, blending worship and intercession.
We plan to prayer walk the entire city. A map is up on our website where people can log in the area they have prayer walked. We will also participate in a clean-up day in the city.

MARSHALL : ILLINOIS
We are a town of 3700. God put it on our hearts to "multiply" and watch Him double our efforts over last year’s prayer effort. Last year 7 churches participated. However, this year 14 churches or ministries participated from four counties. These churches totaled 350 hours of prayer throughout the 10 Day of Prayer. Even a nursing home participated in the 10 Days of Prayer. Prayer coordinators from each church met each Saturday morning for three months to plan and pray for Christ Glory and God’s will during the ten days and for the Global Day of Prayer. Our prayer times were definitely a time of leading and refreshing.

RUSH CITY: MN
Our attendance was low, but the commitment was strong among those who caught the vision. The worship was incredible knowing that we were part of a larger picture in the Spirit.

BEL AIR : MARYLAND
We had 35 pastors who came together with a great sense of unity. We began meeting bi-monthly and as we got closer to GDOP we started to meet weekly. The GDOP meeting was a powerful time with a great sense of God’s presence. In our follow up debriefing meeting we had a very frank and open discussion to celebrate this year’s Pentecost gathering and also to strategize to expand next year’s reach. We decided to continue building on what took place through bringing pastors and leadership together for prayer and sharing our lives, to call for intercessory prayer groups from networking churches and to meet locally in churches for countywide prayer meetings.
A Youth Rally was held on Friday. A Children’s Global Day service ran concurrently with the adult service. The children also were the ones who carried in the flags during the parade of nations. We originally planned to hold our gathering outdoors but due to rain, we were forced to bring it into a church building.
We had a very cross-cultural group that gathered. Ten different churches each hosted one of the ten days of prayer. Our local radio station interview each of the pastors and the local cable company broadcast it on TV.
Paul Drost
WEST HAVEN : CONNECTICUT—We had a wonderful time together and everyone is excited about coming back next year. They even said, “It was the best prayer event ever.” Next year we will try to multiply the gathering sites throughout the state of Connecticut.
Barbara LaChance
MCBAIN : MI
We wanted our gathering to emphasize multiple generations. The age span ranged from a 92-year-old woman to a 12-year-old girl leading parts of The Prayer for the World.
Jackie Busch
SHIPROCK : NEW MEXICO (Navaho Nation Reservation)
We set up a tent on the Chapter House (town hall) property in Shiprock. The fact that we were given permission to do so is something that does not happen. So the Lord's favor was upon the church and there is an open door for ministry. We prayer walked to City Hall entering from the North, South, East and West to kickoff our GDOP. Response and participation were phenomenal. Normally the churches on the reservation keep to themselves. However, we saw a very large percentage of the Church participating.
Every night during the 10 days, a different church hosted prayer. There were between 70 and 100 people who came each night to pray.
Chris Pajak
SAN ANTONIO : TEXAS
We began with the blowing of the shofars. We read “The Lord’s Prayer” in 12 different languages. Leaders lead Prayer for the World. There were six or seven Muslims in the gathering who accepted Jesus.
HOUSTON : TEXAS (Carol Vance Prison, Richmond)—The Global Day of Prayer video was shown to a group of inmates and they were challenged to take the role of organizing the gathering themselves under the guidance of 4 key leaders. Part of the IFI program, is to challenge each inmate to practice the spiritual discipline of praying for others. They took on the challenge in a mighty way. Two hundred inmates took part in this first-ever GDOP gathering at the prison.
Several different inmates lead Prayer for the World. They cried out to God with deep emotion for repentance, for spiritual awakening, for other nations, for revival and especially for prisoners in every nation. They repented for all they had done to bring shame to their families and for the harm they caused others and their cities. They gathered around paper flags of various nations praying for those nations and weeping for the prisoners in those nations.
There was a powerful time of prayer for their mothers and mothers of prisoners all around the world.
A guard stopped the coordinator to say that it was the most significant thing that had ever happened in this prison.
Rickie Bradshaw
PORTAGE : INDIANA
We organized 10 nights of prayer at 10 different churches. Each night probably 4 or 5 of the churches traveled to the host church. About 450 people participated during these 10 days. It was a wonderful spirit of unity and love—a tender time in the Lord.
A citywide Global Day gathering was not organized. Each congregation held their own Pentecost gathering during their Sunday service.

SARASOTA/BRADENTON : FLORIDA
We had a young adult worship and prayer rally on Friday night at the Convention Center where we held our Global Day of Prayer. When we ended, about 100 youths stayed all night to pray. Then on Saturday we held a “Worship Link” for area worship leaders, and Josh Davis of Proskuneo Ministries led in a 4-hour session of soaking worship. We sensed that an impartation took place to area worship leaders.
Local leaders and individuals using prayer huddles and triplets for times of specific intercession led prayer for all areas of the world. Mixed throughout the Pentecost gathering were times of worship, dance, drama, responsive reading, exhortation, and repentance. We had an exceptionally good turnout from Black, Hispanic and white churches.
We are in the process of working on a prayer clock for the area that will lead us to the 2009 Global Day of Prayer.
LABELLE : FLORIDA
We gathered in an outdoor park and started off with a parade of flags. The Prayer for the World was lead totally by the youth in our city. A lot of people caught the vision for united prayer. The sense of unity we felt was a giant step for our city and everyone was excited about getting together again next year.
PASADENA : CALIFORNIA
I felt the evening was a resounding success. The participation was just enough to make the point God wanted to make. The pastors took the lead and demonstrated to our congregations that we are in front of them, paving the way of unity and forming the One Church in our city! It was a great demonstration of what God has been doing in our [pastors] hearts and our lives the past 3 years. I also felt very strongly that the church of the city was birthed into the Memorial Park! This was the first time, officially, that so many pastors from different ethnic, racial, cultural, denominational and language backgrounds had come together to worship in unity in Pasadena! This was also the first time so many of our congregations came together, in a public place (not at someone’s church building) to worship together in unity!
Pastor Henry Sideropoulos
Most of the time we "see" the backside of the spiritual tapestry that is our city. We "see" the clipped threads, the knots, a seeming chaotic cacophony. On the Global Day of Prayer, God turned around our spiritual city tapestry to show us all a priceless masterpiece - designed, crafted, and executed by the Master's hand. We are in a season approaching our third year of praying together weekly, on one accord, the pastors of Pasadena - unity, power and presence: a repositioning of Pasadena, a tilt in our axis on May 11, 2008. A kairos moment in the history of Pasadena, California took place. This crown city belongs to Jesus Christ, now and forever more.
Pastor Karen Erikson
FRESNO : CALIFORNIA
We held a concert of prayer during the 10 days that was led by children. They led us through praying for the children that are hungry, without clothes and shelter, sick, in prison. It was beautiful to see how the next generation is already receiving God's heart for the world. We promoted and had 24/10 prayer going in our church prayer room. The prayer room was set up in stations that tracked the prayer guide themes. Every 24 hours the whole room set up was changed to correspond with the new day.
During the 90 Days of Blessing we are planning a community sports camp and also different groups will bless the community with random acts of kindness.

SPARKS : NEVADA
We began 24 hours of prayer on Saturday at the Nugget Casino hospitality room and concluded on Pentecost Sunday. We have already reserved the Casino for 2009.

RUIDOSO, NEW MEXICO
Beginning with a youth rally and then a prayer breakfast on May 1, we had ten nights of prayer meetings at various churches throughout Lincoln County and the Mescalero Indian Reservation, which led up to a final prayer meeting Sunday night at the convention center. The services were well received. At the GDOP service we worshipped, prayed and read The Prayer for the World and shared the Lord's supper.

ST LOUIS: MISSOURI
It took bold commitment and warm clothes to participate at Busch Stadium this year as the temperature dipped to 49 degrees, winds gusted up to 40 mph, and thick clouds threatened heavy rain. Most people stayed home, but over a thousand came to honor God together, and a combination of reverence, harmony and enthusiasm charged the atmosphere.
Since Pentecost was also Mother's Day, two women, St. Louis' own Dr. Debra Peppers, and a native of Kenya, Africa, Dr. Jemimah Ngatia, guided everyone smoothly through an outstanding program that acknowledged women of faith in the Bible. Prayers were offered by people ranging from ages 2 to 94, and were interspersed with testimonies, soloists, choir songs, responsive readings, video clips, dancers, flags, banners, and the name of Jesus displayed in lights throughout the Stadium. The worship band was led by Daryl Black, the choir was directed by Bob Pickett, and the beautifully costumed, praise dance team was led by Jamesetta Roach. No names on that day, however, were acknowledged, other than the name of Jesus.
To demonstrate Christian love, a freewill offering was received and a check was given to St. Patrick Center, which serves the needs of the homeless. Everyone was encouraged to volunteer for one of the many programs that St. Patrick Center provides.
In our Region, we want to see the walls dissolve within God's family, and we want to become people more like what He desires. By the way, it didn't rain at all in the ballpark that day. The wind quieted down, and the sun even came out.
Charles Fay
HOUSTON : TEXAS
Eight churches gathered together for a wonderful time of praying knowing that many gather in many different places but pray the same prayer with very high expectation. We used the Vietnamese Version of the Ten-Day Prayer Guide with an international focus. Prayers were offered in Spanish, Cambodia, Vietnamese, and English.

COLUMBIA : MISSOURI
The seven parts of the Prayer for the World were read by seven mothers and then followed by a spontaneous prayer by their husbands. Live praise music was utilized before during and after the reading. Small group prayer followed each part of the prayer. It was so well received that people agreed that similar events need to continue. We plan to have a citywide prayer event before next year's GDOP.
Harry Pinney
CHATTANOOGA : TENNESSEE
Each segment of the Prayer for the World was lead in a different language and then in English. The languages were Spanish, Kiswahili, Hebrew, Japanese, Nigerian (don't recall the dialect), & the Philippines. It was really powerful. We did not have any names of the churches or pastors or prayer leaders in the program. Our focus was prayer and the Lord Jesus Christ, and He was lifted up on the Global Day of Prayer. We had someone come to the microphone to start off each prayer focus and then let the people pray for that period of time. Some prayed aloud, some quietly, but we all prayed. It was a very good time.
Cheryl Slack
PRUDENVILLE: MICHIGAN
We had a great time during the 10 days of prayer and on Pentecost here in Northern Michigan! One church set up a 24/7 prayer chain. Another church put together materials for a prayer table and posted topics, scriptures, and prayers all around the sanctuary walls so people could pray around the sanctuary. A cloth map of the world was put up so the people could "touch the world" with their prayers. Each evening we would meet as a group to pray. These were powerful times of repentance and seeking God! At the GDOP gathering we used the Prayer for the World. We opened with prayer, praise and worship. Between each section of the prayer, we would have times when people could come to the microphone to pray for the theme, get into small groups and pray, cry out to God as a group for deliverance, repentance and dedication. We ended with a time of praise and worship and finally sang the Doxology and the people broke out in applause for the Lord.

LONGVIEW/KELSO : WASHINGTON
After 10 days of 24 hour-prayer at the House of Prayer and participating with the Global Day of Prayer via GOD TV, we gathered from 6 pm-9 pm for times of worship, prayer, intercession, declaration and testimonies. We prayed over the next generation and made many strong declarations as we sought the face of the Lord for a move of repentance and revival in our region, the United States and the world. We concluded with the GDOP corporate prayer. During the morning it was a tremendous blessing to participate directly with others in the world via GOD TV projected on the big screens; we prayed with China, Singapore, Romania, Egypt, and Jerusalem! We prayed the GDOP prayer with Jerusalem! What a blessing!
