Malaysia participated in the Global Day of Prayer movement! A number of towns and cities organized the 10 Days of Continuous Prayer. Global Day of Prayer Malaysia also sent out more than 15 prayer teams to three towns during the 10 Days of Continuous Prayer to pray alongside the believers of the local churches and to encourage them to have combined prayer meeting.
We can say that GDOP movement in Malaysia has certainly contributed towards unity of believers. We received many reports from towns and cities throughout the nation that the GDOP meetings brought the pastors and elders from the same town or city together to pray, for the first time!
In Klang Valley (Kuala Lumpur and surrounding area), we have Global Day of Prayer meeting on Pentecost Sunday in all four major languages: English, Malaysia language, Mandarin and Tamil. This is the first time we have GDOP meeting in these other languages! And even though the meetings were held separately, yet there is good networking between the different language groups. The GDOP movement has helped the English, BM, Chinese and Tamil speaking churches to work together, and that is exciting!
We encouraged the youth to participate in the GDOP program, to take leading role if possible. In fact, for our main GDOP meeting in Kuala Lumpur-Klang Valley this year, the meeting was entirely organized by young adults. And they had done an excellent job!
The highlight of our GDOP event here in Kuala Lumpur-Klang Valley was to challenge the young people to take a stand. To take a stand to believe, to pray and to go! Many young people responded to the challenge to pray, and to go –to serve the Lord where He directs them.
